I could do with getting myself a cheap laptop. I need it to do emails and a few word documents.....and occasionally edit bits of video footage from my gigs (nothing major though)

I'm not a tech geek at all....so what should I be looking at? Budget...£300 maybe....like I say cheaper is better!

Have a look at something "pre-loved" in your local Cash Converters / Cex perhaps?

Check out Morgan computers for factory refurbs

Also, check out chrome browser Web video editing apps to see if they meet your needs and if they do then it opens up the possibility of a chromebook

Had similar question HERE and eventually went for the Acer Chromebook.

So cheap my missus and I ended up buying two (£200 each IIRC) and they are brilliant for the basic stuff we do. Battery life is fantastic and start-up is so quick I still can't believe it's ready almost as soon as I open the lid! Huge cloud storage also available.
