We have a 10 week old baby girl & whilst the rear facing car seat fits easily into the Scenic it will not fit in the Scooby, the seatbelt is not long enough. So, what do we do? Incidently, the car seat is a Sivercross but have also tried a M&Ps Primo Viaggio.
Had the same problem 4 or 5 yrs back, they clearly don't want fat people in the back! We bought the base unit for our seat and it solved the problem! Its got isofix as well but never used that or figured how it worked!
Had the same problem in a Saab 900 a few years ago. It would fasten, but it was a real struggle. If the scooby has isofix then that will be the best option.
might be possible to get a longer (front??) seatbelt or an extension that fits between the 2 bits of the buckle?
Newage Imprezas (2001 on iirc) have ISOFIX, probably your best bet.
Isofix works perfectly on my 04 impreza ... Used to have the maxi cosi isofix base so the seat just clips in to the base
