What are the 'best' medical dictionaries and books for general yet professional information. I know basically nothing about medicine so they need to be easy for me to understand or soon pick up.
cheers
Depends what you want it for really. Nurses dictionaries are quite straightforward, there are many different publishers of these. "Oxford" guides (prehospital care, acute medicine, surgery etc) are quite good, and a bit more in depth but clearly and concisely written if you understand what you reading. Avoid flashy over priced books, geared more towards hypochondriac mums. Second hand is acceptably as most of the info wont change.
depends what you want them for. If it's because your planning to do a medical degree and want books to give you a head start email me in profile.
But for general as above are good and wiki
