I'd be asking the insurance company what they would accept first. What works for one may not work for others.

A burglar alarm won't lower your premium or if it does by very little, maybe like 2/3%. Get one that works.

The ones that insurance companies accept have to be maintained on an annual basis and in some cases monitored - the ongoing costs would usually far outweigh any insuraqnce discounts.
Just get a normal alarm, a wireless one is super easy to install.
