[Closed] What are you doing for new year?

I'm borrowing a friends house at the mouth of Salcomb estury, with views up to the main town and out to sea, so it's lunch in town and get a bit pissed, get the kids to bed then drink vodka tonics with the brother in law while watching fireworks and coming up with hair brained ideas as to how the hell we are going to afford the place we are are staying in (£8m ish at last count!!!). New Years day will probably be a right off, but it's pretty much the same as we managed at the Salcomb week earlier in the year, but with added coats!

Then a long ride on the bike New Years Day. And generally being thankful, a few posts on this thread have reminded me that it's been a good year for me. And it can easily not be the case so I'll make hay while I can.

A drink at the pub, dinner at home and a movie, fed up with this cold/flu we've both had for 10 days now.

2 small kids in bed - me and the wife going at the remaining booze in the house, will crack the seal on the Ardbeg I got for christmas, I will probably watch some of the hootenanny but only if there is nowt else on (there won't be)

As Mrs O is at her parents, I thought I was going to be home alone all Billy No Mates this year but some lovely friends have invited me to go to theirs - v pleased.

Sometimes I go too, but didn't this year. She is from the other side of the world and I didn't have the time off work....thanks for asking though, appreciate it.

That's the wurst plan I've heard yet

No plans, the wife has just been to farm shop for a pair of lovely Rib-Eyes for tea though. Doubt i'll be having a drink as I don't drink at home really. Although I may drop in for a pint in the local. Mostly though the wife will be packing boxes as we move out on the 2nd Jan lol.

We have travelled north or the border again so it will be a ceilidh tomorrow night. Did Newcastlton on the way up and have been at Glentress all day. First time for Fin, our Border Collie, she was a natural down Spooky Woods. She was jumping better than me but my forks weren't working.

I've bought some splendid whiskey (2 bottles) and will share it with a very small group of friends. We'll once again be in Harrogate and I'm so hoping it warms up before I get there.. I can't stand the cold up North.
We will venture over one of our fields and if it's clear shall do what we always do, toast the new year in on top of a windy remote hill in wellies, sipping fine fine whiskey.

Then trip over the leccy fence and set the cow alarms off..

Rusty Spanner of this ere parish once did the same for me when I was at a suicidal point in my life & it really helped. Having someone you don't know to be around , just for simple things can help.

i'll be at work til 4pm, then i'll head home, try to eat some tea and no doubt get into bed to hide from the world as i seem to be doing most nights these days since my life went to shit a couple of months ago.
oh, and maybe hoping that this will be the night that i don't wake up in the morning too. and i'm not even joking.

Herbivore, stay strong. About this time last year I was feeling pretty suicidal too. Now I'm divorced and have a hot date for nye which I'm so excited about! You never now what's around the corner!

Out with the girlfriend drinking locally with anybody else who fancies joining us along the way. Will be an early start and an early finish, so probably out at 4pm and then a curry by 10pm and likely home before 12am.

Had a big night out clubbing already on the 27th so NYE will be pretty low key. In the pub on NYD for the football at 12.30 anyway.

I'm working News Years Eve 1700X0300. 😥

Should be landing at 10pm on new years eve, then join a ride on new years day, a 600mtr climb and then a good technical DH run after should clear the jet lag?

Most probably nothing, I'm on call from 8am New Year's day and don't want the hangover.

Never liked NYE, well maybe once when some ladies removed my shirt in a club but that was a very long time ago .
