Is this now the end for Mr Trout? can Smudge build a power supply big enough? Will the world come to an end due to the solar gain of night-riding?

I wonder if you could find an optic that could focus it? Viewable angle of 160 degrees is rather more "floody" than I'd want!

not very efficient is it?

240lumen Q5 LED (tesco torch an similar),240lumen/W (about the same as a P7 as well)
So building a board out of Q5's, 29 Q5's = 29W = 7000lumen

7000lumen LED, 100W so 70lumen/W, which is rubbish!
