They were just unloading this beast as we finished our factory tour, interesting day of work 🙂

The noise when he started it!

silence? Is it not electric? Looks v cool but if petrol it's relegated to a bag o shite 😀

also the version with the roof from the link actually looks even better!

Shame the back end looks as though its melted or been sat on by something very large (or both)

Yes electric, it just glided gracefully around. I think the roof come out of the front. The quote online for the rear end was something like inspired by a yacht or wooden speedboat

Nice, although the hardtop one on the website looks better. People can't see you lording it around so easily though, so perhaps not as good for it's target market.

Bonnet needs to be at least 3 foot longer to elevate it to proper cartoon proportions & the grille should be 18% shinier.

Would be great if that bonnet flipped over to either reveal a villain's 'map of doom' with blinking LEDs and a radar tracker of some sort flashing away, or a large waterbed with silk sheets.

On my last visit to MB in Stuttgart, they'd had one of these outside. Much nicer.

It has a touch of Syd Mead about it

Weren’t they trying to make it look like a Riva ?

They

failed.

It has some redeeming features, the elegance of line from the bonnet to the door, the lift over the wheel arches and the raked screen.

All in all a pretty striking vehicle, though those wheels will take a bashing on the UKs potholed moon surfaced roads.

And anyone driving one around will require an orange tan and monobrow.

Something tells me an alarm will go off if it gets near the Kent riviera

And some other stuff they had out

Apparently its an option to collect your new merc from there with a tour, not sure you get a discount for that though....

As a factory tour goes it was decent though some awesome robot action going on in there and makes a few more things make sense from a line design point of view

What a bloody horrow show that thing is.  Did they stick the designers in front of Cars 3 on repeat, deprive them of sleep and force them to eat nothing but blue m&m's?

Much prefer that outcome to:

Accountant: we want you to design our new sportscar

Designer: Ohhh goody, I've always wanted to do one of those, thank you for the opportunity.

Accountant: Here's the CAD file for the EF54GS-B mid sized family car 4cyl transverse FWD platform you did for our budget brand last year, you can work around that can't you?

Designer: *sobs*

Grill looks like a cartoon smiley face, like something out of Pixar’s Cars. Or a whale as others have pointed out.

Not really a car person but man alive it’s ugly.

superstu

...Not really a car person but man alive it’s ugly.

Spending that much money on a car is ugly.

Just think how many bikes you could have for that, and you probably can't even get a complete bike in the boot. Useless vankercock transport. 🙂
