After suffering from various injuries which have stopped me running amongst other things, I bought a new pair of trainers recently to start training once more. It made me realise how little support my other shoes have and how uncomfortable my work shoes are. Talking to my physio today, he reckoned trainers are the best type of shoes to wear. So can anyone recommend some suitable black/brown trainers for work which dont look like trainers? At the moment I wear chinos, button down shirt (no tie) plus doc martens, so the dress code is quite casual.
Cheers
i wear five tens at work.
they are black, and ver very comfy..
Merrells? I wear mine for everyday stuff, not in an office, but some of their range are more formal than others.
cheers, will check to see how casual they look
any links?

Get some SuperFeet insoles for your other shoes?
I have blue sambas 8)
What GrahamS said. Some of the other suggestions will have you looking a right div. Good running shops will have plenty of supportive insoles to try. Of course you could go the whole go and get yourself some orthotic jobbies.
I have superfeet insoles already and they help but a good pair of running shoes are better or feel better anyway
I slope around the office in Vans, which if you avoid the signature models are quite stealthy, as well as being comfy as hell for my constantly sprained ankles

That's odd - when I saw a physio and the a specialist for my ankle problems (eventually diagnosed as being casued by massive over-pronation, AKA flat feet), they both said that trainers were rubbish for feet, and I should wear good solid shoes as much as possible. I ended up with proper orthotics for my problem.
+1 for Merrell's, at least their more understated models as opposed to the ones with stupid over-sized soles.
I work in DC skate shoes. I'm currently wearing DC Centers at work - all black apart from the red logo.
Comfy as anything and I'm on my feet all day from 6:30 to 5 without any foot problems.
Barefoot would be best, surely? Make your feet do some of the work of supporting themselves, so they get stronger.
"Running bare foot is associated with a substantially lower prevalence of acute and chronic injuries to the ankle and lower limbs" (nicked from the Inov-8 site)
Oooh, I know, I know....how about some of them MBT shoes...they look so, like, cool.
im with mikentually.
paint your feet black?
Doctor Martins shoes are the most comfortable shoes Ive found. Just as comfy as trainers.
5.10s here at work....
I'm currently at work wearing Simple Eco Sneaks, which I also wore to a wedding at the weekend.
Get a job writing computer code and you can wear chinos and trainers no problem.
