Doing a simple website for a mate

Seems to preview fine off-line, but when it's loaded onto their host server

This > If you're taking part

Looks like this > If you’re taking part

How is such a thing fixed?

& #8217; (remove the space)
& rsquo; (remove the space)
right single quotation mark
that's what you need to get the apostrophe.
But I'm sure someone will be along to tell me how wrong I am.

Couple of ideas...
You've used a non-standard character (or a special char) for an apostrophe. Often happens if the content is copied from MS Word for example where it will convert a simple apostrophe into a special one. You can somes get rid of this by copying from Word, pasting into Notepad, copying from Notepad and then pasting into website. "Filtering" through Notepad tends to remove the special characters.
Other alternative might be for you to "escape" the apostrophe yourself by replacing it with the following 6 characters (remove spaces) & a p o s ;
