Seeing as we are in the peak of yet another "English BBQ Summer", I just wanted some recomendations for waterproof shorts?

So, whats the general opinions?

Good idea?
Bad idea?

Recomendations??

They are seemingly a contradiction in terms, but they do work surprisingly well.

In desperation, I bought some of the Gore ones ('cos nowhere had Endura eVents in stock at the time). Been very impressed with them - legs are perhaps a bit short for depths of winter (er..but then I'm long legged), but it does stop 'em getting too warm in our glorious summer weather.

Just to be contrary, can't see the point myself - I take the roadie approach of bibshorts/bibshorts+tights/roubaix bib longs according to cold. And set of crud catchers.
