Morning all,

I'm heading to Eskdale in a few weeks for a well earned break with the wife. We'll be taking the bikes but I really fancy doing some sort of kayaking / canoeing. Neither of us have any experience of this (well not since school anyway) but we wouldnt mind renting a kayak / canoe / whatever else and mooching around some great expanse of water somewhere.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Can we simply rent something or would I be looking for some sort of guide? We're not far from Wast Water so it would be nice if there was something around there.

Cheers

Nice choice of valley as one of the only ones without a lake! The busier lakes rent out boats of all sorts-Coniston, Windermere, derwen****er and ullswater. For wast water you would probably need to book a provider to take you out. West lakes adventure are based in eskdale and do canoeing amongst lots of other things. No idea if they are any good, might be worth a look at their website though?

Thanks. I've e-mailed West Lakes Adventure. The more I think about it the more I fancy giving it a go!
