Long shot...
Just looking to buy a house near Harrogate in a village called Great Ouseburn and it turns out NYCC are planning on building [url= http://www.nywag.org/ ]THIS[/url] reasonably closeby.
At the moment we live in Harrogate to the West of the planned development, but the house we are looking at is directly to the East (normal wind direction). Of course the PR for the development says it is safe etc but of course their is equally lots of negative stuff around - especially as the site is being built to incinerate household waste yet is double the size it would need to be to incinerate all of Yorkshire's waste (at current population/waste levels). It turns out they will also be burning commercial and industrial waste at the plant.
Obviously we are concerned about any potential health hazards for our children (should they be real) but conversely we don't want to get carried away by believing a scare-mongering action group and passing up the opportunity to consider the house (which is still some 4 miles from the proposed unit).
So - does anyone live near any such waste incinerator and do they experience any health issues or other unpleasant issues (such as smell/dust particles etc).
