Seem to have had a disaster with a item of clothing which has coated the washer with navy blue fluff. Tried wiping the drum and seals to get rid. Ran cycles with nothing in. Cleaned the filter of fluff five times now and it's still in there.

It has even clogged the filter so much that it stopped the cycle till I emptied the filter.

Any ideas?

Use one of those lint/pet hair sticky rollers.

Let it dry out and vacuum it?

Sounds like the filter is doing its job. Maybe you just need to run a few more empty cycles to purge the fluff into the filter?

Plausible. There's a finite amount, after all.

Try running a cycle with something you don't want in there, a couple of old towels or something.

Was just a dark blue sweatshirt the fleecy lining inside has come away. Running cycles with shitty towels we use to dry the dog.
