I've posted this question on a DIY forum that seems to have a resident washing machine engineer but I bet you lot come up with the answer faster 🙂

Pasted from the other site:

Hotpoint Aquarius WD420 Error Code?

Unloaded the machine this morning to find fairly wet washing (but not dripping) faint smell of detergent and the on/off light flashing rapidly along with Time Saver light flashing slowly?

It was on an E cycle (fast wash). I did an empty B cycle (95dg) the day before to keep the machine smelling sweet, its only the second time its been used, first time being when it was brand new nearly two years ago and we followed the first use instructions!

I'll try the basics like clearing the filter this afternoon, but if anyone can let me know what the error is that would be great!

Thanks

P.S Anyone know of a list of error codes online? The all-seeing Google doesn't know of any.

Found this maybe worth a look.

"Light 2 flashing indicates the pressure switch is stuck .

By far the most common cause is a blocked sump hose. Its down at the bottom, behind the small panel.

Remove the mains plug, tilt the machine forward slightly and place a washing up bowl or large roasting tray underneath. Have a few large towels handy and remove the large black hose attached to the bottom of the drum. The ping pong ball should be in there, anything else should not"

My error code turns out to be f01 light 4, motor triac

Any experts able to tell me what needs replacing/hitting with a hammer?

if it is the motor triac error, normally needs motor , door switch and main board which has to be reprogrammed by hotpoint laptop

biggest pile of crap on sale today, hotpoint and indesit imho

call out hotpoint pay 96 quid call out fee and do the same every year till you get fed up

or go to currys buy 170 quid beko and a whatever happens policy £100 ish and be covered for 5 years
