VW Touran boot size is 695 litres Passat is 513 litres how comes Passat looks so much bigger ? How are they measuring this ? To add that makes the Touran have a huge boot bigger than most estates on the market including the Honda Accord 2002 to 2008.
Just bought a Touran not convinced on the boot space though !

They measure the volume. In litres.
Touran is far higher than the passat.
Touran has the same body size as the VW Caddy Van.
Don't they just measure up to the bottom of the windows too?

Our touran has a decent sized boot, haven't directly compared it to a passat but we don't struggle for space.

There is also the flexibility you get in the seating arrangements. The fact the seats can be slid forward, tilted or removed makes it a very versatile motor imo
Just don`t try reclining a rear seat with the boot cover removed and leaning back on the seat 🙄
The Passat boot may be a bit wider and slightly longer than the Touran. The Touran is Golf based I think
Touran boot is vast, as has been said it's the vertical height that makes the difference. We have the five sweater one with a spare wheel under the floor. That boots even bigger as the spare wheel takes up less space than the folded seats. Loads of cubby holes then too.
I'm just a bit anal about boot sizes ! Have to lug a whole lotta stuff around on the odd occasion.
Used to have a Honda Stream with the 3rd row of seats taken out and the space was huge ( no longer with us thanks to my local council refuse truck that reversed into the back of it causing some damage)
