Hi
My Golf 1.6 FSI needs a new NOx sensor - £340 just for the part. Read up about it on the net and there are suggestions that it might be a recall - how do I found out if it actually is?
VW dealer. VW customer services. VW website.
I've just found out that my Passat may be one that has a disastrous oil pump failure issue. Oil light comes on, then engine dies more or less instantly.
From what I gather, there's a recall for it - I'm going to contact the dealer.

That's pretty normal TBH, most oil pressure lights are taken at the head at about 4psi, at motorway speeds that gives you about 2-3 seconds before your engine is written off. However if the pump is prone to failure, its nice that they're offering a recall!
I mentioned this to Mrs Grips along with the possibility of dicky injectors, and the first thing she said was 'change the car!'
Woohoo!
Rubbish.
Ill give the dealer a call tomorrow.
If there is a recal and you hold the docs for the vehicle should they not contact you anyway,

They have in the past with us (Toyota on a random small part I can't remember) and BMW on a radiator cap. But I wouldn't be sure it happened every time.
The original owner of my car may have just ignored the recall.
this happened to my A3 (53 plate, 2.0 petrol), actually it was the final straw in a very long list of things that made me sell it. when the nox went i was getting intermittant loss of power and 20mpg on a good day.
my garage were really good, guy lifted the car up, showed me the sensor on the exhaust, in his opinion he reckoned i was going to be back year in year out fixing same fault as corrosion had set in.
best price i found was here:- http://www.lambdapower.co.uk/
but i sold before i fixed it, and the leaking coolant issue, and replaced the pads and discs................etc etc.
