I probably should post this tomorrow when all the IT folk are back [s]on the internet[/s] at work. Anyway, I'm not a great typist but sometimes I have to type. Is this software any good these days and if so what can anyone recommend? My last experience was that of a friend where "rinse your mouth" became "mince your mouse". All very amusing but I'm hoping it's improved 🙂

Thanks

I have heard (but not tried myself) that to text very rude words to your BT landline and then hear the automated voice read them out is very funny.

Well, the voice to text function on my new google phone is bobbins to be honest. It seems to get about 50% of stuff wrong.

Dragon Naturally Speaking here - only use it when I'm writing longer pieces. Was rubbish on my work laptop as the IT Nazis have the thing locked down so badly it looses it profiles every time I log on through the work network and all the learning of my voice is lost. Much better at home though - some classic blunders and you do have to be prepared to proof read the output and spend the time teaching it. I wrote a 2000 word article the other week in less than an hour - it's not the physical typing that slows me but I seem to think better with my feet on the desk, eyes closed rather than staring at the screen.

Is there any of this software that can deal with those who stammer? My mate gets very frustrated when calling numbers that ask you to navigate a menu with your voice; why can't they just let you use a number pad - maybe like the one on the phone?!
