I'm trying to work out what would be the best option for my Kitchen and bathroom flooring and was tempted by vinyl in a solid colour, it looks quite nice, but I remember it being really cheap looking when I was growing up in the late 80's, any thougts?
I've put some Karndean down in my kitchen. Dunno if thats what you mean though?
I was just thinking of having a solid colour for the flooring without any pattern at all.
We've had vinyl in the kitchen and utility room. Nice thick stuff. Looks ace - although we've got ours patterned.
NB: black and white check shows dirt very well. Especially in a utility room where a bike is stored....

We've got vinyl in the bathroom and it looks very good. Nothing like the 70's stuff. Not sure I'd go a solid colour though, it'd make me think of a swimming pool changing room somewhat.
I was thinking something like a grey or an olive green!
