[Closed] Video editing software - what's out there that's easy and handles everything?

Looking for some software to edit videos, I have some from a headcam some from a digital camera and I'd like to be able to put some stills into it too, but the digital camera film won't work on windows media player, the headcam stuff won't edit/publish properly in windows movie maker. I have quicktime but looks like you have to upgrade to the pro version to do anything and don't know if that will do what I want? I used to use Adobe Premier years ago and still have an old version but none of my mew stuff works with it because of codecs or something, it's all just incompatible, ideally I'd like something like Premirer as it was easy to edit tracks on it, but not with the price tag - I can't justify spending so much now just for a few videos. So is there anything for free or a small cost that can do the job? 😕

Thanks

Adobe Premiere Elements will import and export a vast range of media types.

It doesn't hold your hand like Windows Movie maker or Pinnacle, but it's easy to pick up the basics and when you're ready there's loads of real power and flexibility under the hood. Less than £100, bundled with Photoshop Elements. A bloody bargain.
