We discovered today that our recently sacked cleaner stole a massively sentimental, irreplaceable and very expensive ring as well as my wife's Canada Goose jacket. She s smart enough to take things she knew wouldn't be missed straight away.
Police have been brilliant, jewellery box is away for finger prints, witness statements taken from neighbours who saw her in our house after we had sacked her. Realistically though we are probably not going to see the jewellery again.
Locks changed, insurance to be told next week, its all a bit shit really Jacket easily replaceable, ring though has been in my wife's family for years.
That's all.
While we didnt have anything stolen we have had our fair share of problems with cleaners.
One couldnt understand why we told her not to come back after she started turning up drunk, taking the money without cleaning properly and then going home and leaving the key in the door.
