I’ve been on the lookout for another van for a few weeks now and I got a price for my nv200 from the we buy any van people about a month ago of £6600. The next couple of weeks that price was slowly going down, however this last week it’s gone up by a thousand pounds!
What’s the crack there then?

Van prices been going for a while now. Too much demand across parcel delivery services is the main driver.

Didn't think about that, thought it was tradesmen with their bounce back loans.

Anything to do with the lack of international travel? I’ve just bought a campervan and all of the converters I spoke to said demand is going through the roof.

All those reasons and businesses having to double up on vans as they can’t send two people in one van to do a job as easily as they could.

We usually get at least a couple of transporters loaded with Enterprise vans a day, or used to, but there’s been hardly anything coming in recently. Which is a good thing, ‘cos we’re rammed with the vehicles coming in from Motability, Arval, and British Gas, we’d struggle to find somewhere to put them!

Saw the guy from Vamoose out on his bike the other day and mentioned to him that I thought he'd be too busy to ride midday midweek, he replied that yes demand is there but he can't source the good VW T's cos they've rocketed in price lately.

I’ve been in touch with 8 dealers either by phone, live chat or via autotrader and only one has got back to me. I’m guessing they are that busy they can pick and choose their customers.
Anyone got a transit custom limited in grey they are selling 15k ish?

I was looking at estate cars in Autotrader on Thursday, 45 met my criteria, Friday it was 29. My wife commented on the number of deliveries being made by cars.

Someone I know is leaving their job to pick up converting fulltime, he's been doing it as a evening and weekend hobby and they've been flying out, hes leaving his job to do it full time now.

Partner is looking for a used van for her business, choices are slim and expensive for the age / mileage. making do with an estate and local couriers for now but not sure when things will get sensible again.

This. Van dealer in the midlands I bought from reckoned he'd never been as busy, and never sold as many vans without finance, all paid for, all from government support money.

Its not free money - bounce back is just a loan thats quick to arrange with a 12 month deferred payback. Van sales are high out of necessity as businesses owners want to avoid sending  two people to a site in the same vehicle - so that requires a lot of businesses to expand their fleet - buying new vehicles but not trading old ones in. Similarly hire fleets will be expanding for the same reason as market demand will be high for them too and are not selling off the older vehicles in their fleet.  The BB loans just prevent nervous lenders from throttling businesses. The terms will be more attractive than anything the dealer can offer - but its a loan all the same.
