MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
Following on from my recent Medium sized van thread, i'm bored of trawling the interweb and bargin pages..
I'm going to go to the commercial BCA auction in Measham on Tuesday, seems to me i might as well buy there as private and might get a cheaper van.
Anyone got any tips for buying at auction 😕
Rule 1 - stick to your pre-determined budget.
Rule 2 - make sure you stick to rule 1.
Or go a few hundred more
You need cash for deposit
Pen and paper for details of vans like
Listen v careful at the start of each sale to see if it has MOT, tax, documents etc
If no documents do not bid, its a real pain to get them
Proably best to go first and not bid, to see how it works
Vans are cheap at auction, but you have no come back if its a shit van
I like ex council ones best, lots of Tea not much work!!!
also you need to pay in full next day ish
Don't forget the vat
Have a good look round any you have your eye on beforehand. Try to be near it when they start it up, usual checking for smoke etc. Don't be worried if they have to have the jump-starting gadget to it.
We've had five cars from auctions, four good ones and one dodgy. Not a bad rate.

I used to have an ex Edinburgh council landrover. Was fantastic. 😆
With BCA auctions you can view online with photos, so i'm armed with a list of 10 vans to look at, and they are all HPI checked by the auction house 😆
Got to be a winner 😉
have a good look over, especially when they start
this is from someone trying to stop a land rover from smoking so much that the auctioneer won't be able to see the punters, it is a dog, and it is the only way to dispose of it in one piece really - we won't be the first or last to do this, so beware.
Lot of lease vehicles come with service print-outs.
