I was asking on here the other day if anyone could help with delivering some cakes and flowers to my girlfriend in London today as I'm living out of the country. I was unsuccessfull but none the less the day was a success!

I managed to get some flowers delivered which she loved, from marks and Spencer's after a recommendation, all 10-15 local shops I emailed in the area she works failed to respond otherwise I would have used them, anyway marks and Spencer's ended up being very nice and they were there by 10am today!

In the cake front I wanted some cup cakes delivered from about 5 streets away but they wanted £14 for delivery so I ended up telling her she had to go somewhere but I wouldn't tell her where or what for. Until lunch time I sent her some directions to collect them which was also a success. From primrose cupcakes on Tavistock street in London, as expensive as their delivery is they are very nice people to deal with, thank you Sally.

And to top it all off a home made card and a new wooly hat arrived in the post for me this morning which was totally unexpected, shall come in handy in this here -10 temps in slovenia!

Well unfortunately i couldn't do anything especially romantic being so far away, no candlelight dinners this year.

Get to see her next week though so all is good

I love the part about the home made card and wooly hat, who'd have thought an anus could receive so graciously.

A friend who works abroad a lot often has dinner with his wife via Skype with video. They set up their laptops on the table opposite themselves and can see and chat to each other while eating.
