Do they exist? My Google skills have failed me.

My phone charges really slowly plugged in to the car USB socket, I guess it's only 500mA.

Next to the car USB socket is a handy 2A charger, does a lead exist that will let me plug in to both so I can use the extra power without affecting the data side?

Cheers

You can get a USB Y cable. Usually used for connecting to a hard drive, if it can't get enough power from a single port. It might work with a phone.

Yes that kind of thing cheers but it's for an iPhone so really just need it to have a big USB socket, or a lightning connector.
But really wanted to use the original cable as it's a bit fussy with non Apple leads.

Surely Bluetooth for music playback in the car and plug it into the 2a charger for power.

The car might be Smart link / Android Auto/ Apple doodah and you have to plug phone into the car USB for sat nav and stuff. Works fine on my lads Skoda for charging.

The car is a 2012 BMW so pre car play/Android auto but it does allow you to control the phone to search and select albums and playlists using Apple music. And it even shows album art. It actually works brilliantly.

Unfortunately over Bluetooth all you can do is skip tracks and no pretty pictures.
