Watching TV a couple of nights ago, one of the Aviva ads came on, the one with Paul Whitehouse as the dad of the family just going on holiday ("it won't be the same without dad"). After it finished, my 14 yr old lad got up and came over and gave me a proper good hug. Really not something you'd expect from a teenage lad. Didn't need any words, I knew what he meant.
Sorry to be soft and sentimental but it was just lovely, I'll remember it for a very long time.

Great! That's not soft and sentimental, that's how it's supposed to be!

Awwww. Far too lovely a sentiment to make any sort of silly quip.

I've not long ago had a great big hug from/ with my youngest son. At 13 y.o. he's all into floppy hair and grunting. And over he came to sit with me on the sofa. It was lovely.

Fabulous! I hope I still get hugs when my now 4-year-old is 14, even if they need a bit of prompting!
