Yeah, I can’t help but think that whoever this Sidney Powell is, she’s a lawyer and will have had plenty of training in literacy and spelling etc. This lawsuit is quite literally a joke to Trump’s team. I’m not sure what the big play is, but I think it’s dangerous to assume incompetence here.

Having seen Trumps latest fox interview, he is deluded, IMO he really believes in the conspiracy he and his team are touting. Because he has been fed nothing but ego affirming news by those who surround him for his whole life, and especially the last 4 years, he just can't conceive the reality.
I don't think that Powel and her ilk are even grifting, they are just so deep and used to pandering to his tantrums they are also unable to take a step back and look at what they have become. They have had their self worth and credibility chipped away at for years, they sold their souls for greed when they first joined the team, now they are just shells of former professionals.

The division of US politic and people will become more permanent. I don't know if they're thought it through that far, or what happens after that. They can't. They can only make people forget about it. It's well known that people don't do anything politically when their lives are comfortable. They only get active when they feel that something is badly wrong. Hitler gained power on the back of Germans feeling they'd been unfairly treated and suppressed by the Treaty of Versailles. Trump gained power by making people think their economic woes were because of immigrants and snowflake millenials and political correctness. If enough people stop having woes, then this argument evaporates. If people have well paying jobs then they'll go to work, spend their money, have a good time and stop being angry.
