Am I the only one more worried now that they have officially called it.? The embers that Trump and infowars et al have been stoking now have nothing to lose. All it will take is one idiot to do something stupid and it gets very ugly, very quickly.

It would be lovely but of course, because the “left” is held to such ridiculously high standards, he can’t can he? A republican would say it, and his or her supporters would go “har de har har...” and we’d have to suck it up.
i know it is only the next step in what is going to be a messy transition and a long process of heading towards a new normality but it is still a relief that this step has been taken.

cromolyolly, there have been published analyses of voting by multiple demographics; I guess it's relevance depends on you break down the demography.
As you say, the full analyses are something to look forward to; there will be some uncomfortable reading for the Dems.
Will be interesting to see how Biden tries to broaden the Dems appeal.

I wonder if this choice gives a clue as to Biden's allegiances:
As president-elect, Mr Biden gets increased protection from the Secret Service and his codename is Celtic. These names are chosen by the candidate. Mr Trump was Mogul and Kamala Harris has reportedly picked Pioneer.

While Mr Trump doesn't have to concede, or even put on a good face and attend Mr Biden's inauguration, he does have some legal obligations. He must authorise his administration to make the logistical preparations for Biden's team to take over. That is something, according to Trump officials, the president has already done.
Suggesting that Trump has privately conceded and the lawsuits are just bluster and for show.
Now all we need is the banks to call in the Donald's loans, as he no longer has security.

Yes but too much of what we've seen so far is based on provisional data. I'm interested to see, for instance, did Biden lose minority voters to Trump, did they not vote, did the attempts by various state govts to suppress votes from certain demographics work. That kind of thing.
