Hello all, I was TUPE'd over to a charity from Derbyshire County Council nearly two years ago and so far all is well but fairly soon there is going to be some changes to DCC employees terms and conditions due to single status which I believe is something to make sure terms, pay etc are equal for equal jobs. There is rumours that the people who stayed working for DCC but doing the same job as me will lose 3 grand a year salary. I guess I want to know if my terms and conditions including pay are still protected under TUPE or will they change with the DCC employees. Hope all that makes sense!.cheers.

Can't you harmonise to the charities T&Cs?

The charities T&Cs are really poor and they are on a lot less than I am.

Your T&Cs won't change retrospectively as there's no link between your new employer and your old one - i.e. TUPE is irrelevant now.

anyone else got any thoughts on the subject as a guy spoke to a chap at the union today and the amount I could lose from my salary is now thought to be 4 grand!!

i managed to stick with my company but do know that those that got TUPE'd across had their T&C's negotiated. i would recommend you have a look at the contract that you were given as that will explain what you're entitled to.

Wot druidh says, although if I recall correctly TUPE is not entirely irrelevant as you have the right to keep any T+Cs you brought across from DCC as long as you wish.

This equal pay for equal work , thing, is currently in the council sector, as they have the funds to pay back the money to lower paid employees, or as is now happening reduceing the pay of higher paid staff.

Sometime soon the unions and lawyers will star tto target other emplyers and take a cut of the money they get back, and do you think the lower paid staff are going to say no, of course not.
