I need to get a set of decent ladders that don't flex loads.

Back in the 80s used to swing off Youngman trade ladders, are they still the go to or are there any other makes that are as good without the 'hefty' price tag?

TIA.

Standards innit. Start with EN131 Commercial, I've got a Werner triple.
Prices have increased since 2019! I'd suggest one of the online ladder specialists and get a sale/own brand if budget is a consideration
D-rung is more comfortable than square

If you have the space to store and don't need to transport often (i.e.it for home use) you can sometimes pick up scaffolding ladders cheap second hand. Good and sturdy.

I got a Zarges last year, commercial style. One thing to note is that they can't be split into seperate sections.

I use others for work with a line for extending and it's a lot easier with that however I also don't have to manhandle the ladder on my own at work.

They are bulky so yeah make sure you can store them..

We use TB Davies ones at work, but possibly top end of your budget for domestic use. Mine are 20 years old now.

I bought a set second hand on ebay for £100 so worth a look if you want to save a few hundred quid.
Really nice and sturdy but the trade off is that they're a bit on the heavy side.
If you're going up that high I strongly recommend a Ladder M8trix to stop the bottom sliding out. I'm a decorator and use it for safety every time I'm painting soffits etc.

My triples are by a company called Lyte. I've used loads of other ladders and these are my favourite. Wide and solid. Just what you want.

Work use lyte
For home I've got some funky zarges but as others have said they cannot be split.
Thay open to a huge stepladder type affair and have wide feet.

I've got a Lyte triple - it's solid, but it's a bit of beast to move around. It's really overkill for home use, if I was buying again, I'd probably look at a telescopic ladder.

Maybe I'm just nervous and fat. But one thing I want to be overkill is my ladders. Especially triples that go up high.
