Hi all,

The kids need a bigger trampoline (currently have a 10ft, 10 year old cheap and cheerful one which is a bit manky now and not big enough for a 12 year old who wants to do flips on!) so I wondered if anyone has any specific recommendations.

Ideally and oval or rectangular one, 16 x 10 sort of size and up to £500.

Thanks in advance.

Advice from my trampolining PE teacher wife - don't get a big one at home. Join a club.

Hi,

Thanks for the advice, but they already do far too many clubs to start another one!

Was after advice on which brands to look at/avoid.

From when I looked unless you go professional level kit (way more than £500), all trampolines seem be be generic name chinese made stuff.

FWIW I bought a 10ft round Telstar trampoline from these people (link is to a big oval), and after 3 years of being sat in the garden all year round it's still in very good condition. And even survived a trip into next doors garden in high winds!...

My daughter did trampolining at a local club and managed practice with this at home and do all sorts of tricks on a 10ft round so a big oval should be plenty big enough.

I went for the Telstar because the net supports are on the outside, do more space to jump inside.

Capital Play in ground one here too. Really well made and looks miles better than our old blue ‘standard’ trampoline as it doesn’t stand out like a sore thumb. Good company to deal with too.

The Telstar trampolines seem pretty good - we had a 12ft one (sold due to moving to a house with a smaller garden) and it was in great condition after three years. We had to replace some of the net uprights after it was picked up and blown around in a storm the other year.

Anyone tried those Springfree trampolines?

Missus likes the idea of one. Personally I appreciate the engineering, but not the cost!

picked up and blown around in a storm

survived a trip into next doors garden in high winds!…

Fix it down securely (you can get screw in ground anchors) so that you are not liable when it takes off and damages next-doors car / conservatory / cat.................

Jumpking 15ft oval was our choice for teen cage fighting. It was well made and survived serious abuse without accidents. Worth the money

go big with a decent net.

We have a Jump King, purchased when my son was 5 & still used regularly now he's 12. He also goes to a trampoline club. We've been through a few nets, the pad over the springs is now very worn & it's had the misfortune of being used on uneven ground. Spares readily available, UK distro, I'd buy one gain.

Jumpking here too. 12ft round, had two nets and never been taken down since that fateful Christmas eve about 6 years ago. Regularly gets dragged in to a new spot for mowing purposes but it's pretty much ****ed the grass!
