If youd seen it when you collected the car they would still have said it was like that when you left it

Do you think it happened on their premises? (rather than parked on a public road outside their garage for instance) If so, get round there ASAP with a camera and try to find the other car with a matching dent.

email them with pics asap, i assume when it was taken in that you signed a sheet with the receptionist stating any damage done, I also assume sales are open on Saturday in which case take it down and at least get them to acknowledge the damage first thing Saturday . As said before check other cars for damage just in case.
I know this will not help the OP but if you pick your car up after leaving it with a garage always walk round it and have a quick check (it takes 10 seconds)

Once had this at a garage we thought our gate had swung in to customers car so told him we needed it for a bit longer and had the dent filled a painted pronto. Customer collected his car went to the side where the damage was stared and scratched his head then got in his car and drove off. Never found out if the dent was there when he brought it in or not.

Check very carefully for fresh paint transfer, and that if the paint is broken, that there's no runt, to show the damage is very recent. If there is paint transfer, even a tiny amount, then photos, and try to find the other vehicle at the garage asap. If theres paint on that one from yuor car, then you have a reasonable amount of evidence to show it's their misfortune.

There's the problem, it's not just the drivers that can be tossers.

They should have had your car inspected before taking your keys and get you sign before and after to cover themselves.

They would have insurance to cover damage so I can't understand them hiding it.

What will you do if they deny it? sue or brick?

While I agree with you alpin, it is annoying with spelling errors...

But have you considered how annoying it must be when someone points out that their English is incorrect when they have had a really bad day such as a huge dent in your car?
