What's the matter with piratebay? Works ok for me.

Disappointed that Mininova's gone the journey.

get yourself invited to a scene tracker if you can. You'll have to keep a ratio but it is more than worth it.

Best bet is probably www.torrentz.com cos it just searches a number of torrent sites and gives you a list of results. Or type what you want into google followed by the word 'torrent'

Or for punk stuff try punktorrents.com

just google what you want and put torrent after it ... google will search all the torrents site for you, or if you are looking for music just put rapidshare or magaupload after the name of the album and get a direct download 🙂

I use rapid share for downloads. But you gotta pay. Downloads are miles faster with no shite.

Whatever you do, run a virus-check on everything you download - before you even unzip (or "unrar").

thanks all for the sites and hints,
should I scan the torrent, or the file once ive downloaded it?
I use avast, do I need anything more specialist?

Pay attention to any comments regarding the torrent. Some will say that virus' are present, but that's because most AV will mis-interpret certain file types and incorrectly make out they're viruses.

Scan the folder/file when you download it - and use your intuition. Some will be genuine (regardless of feedback), and others will be malicious (regardless of feedback also).

coolio, but if the av misinterprets and flags up viruses how do I know which are real?
