Nice road. Who was it on the bike at the start?

Only at the start? They ran him off the road then?

Oh don't bring your predicable predudice, if you'd been watching you'd know Clarkson now rode a bike.

It's not prejudice, slating one person because of what he says is not prejudice. If it were you'd be guilty of it, mt.

More to the point, when/how etc did they do that shot on the Mall?

That's just up the road, and had I known, I'd have been there for a drool!

I suspect that the guy on the bike at the start was an old pro and current audaxer called Phil.

Looked like Braemar to Glenshee to me. Great road with or without engine.

That would have been shot very early on a Sunday Morning no doubt (though light suggests otherwise )

It was the Glenshee to Braemar road A93. We used to drive up there a lot and got to know every blind crest and turn. Most memorably in car 167.

That road is good in a loaded diesel estate, so it must be brilliant in the Jag

I seem to spend more time working out which area they're in and admiring the camera work. Hammond voice over voice has to be turned off otherwise not a bad way to waste an hour.

Great episode, they did more in one hour to show british manufacturing industry still has a beating heart and some great products, than the shower running the country will ever achieve till they voted out in the next election.

Just drawn a pickeles on my thumb, LOL.

They shut off a few roads in Milk and Beans for a whole day for the 10 seconds of F1 cars overtaking a Fiesta going 20mph! Was hoping for a bit more than that when I heard about F1 cars and round abouts!

I do wish they would do a piece on the landspeed record. Get Bloodhound on and put Richard Noble and Andy Green in the reasonably priced car

Last two episodes quite good, which is saying not very much compared to the dross that preceded them. Jingoism at the end was a bit well, I dunno - playing to the audience I suppose. Interesting juxtaposition with the documentary following.

more an attempt to restore pride in something that was once great deadlydarcy, not really jingoism.
personally I thought it was just bullshit, but that's probably my dislike of Jeremy Clarkson and his whole agenda of bullshit (e.g. his new love of bicycles). should anyone else have done it, I might have thought bravo, but those three doing it just feels a bit soiled.

The bus/car bit. Not Somerset; the village was Lacock, in north Wilts, the low bridge looked like the one on the Fosse Way, under the M4, also north Wilts. The big house? Pretty sure that was Longleat. Cheddar Gorge was Somerset, but Castle Combe? Wiltshire. The White Horse? Westbury, Wiltshire. Naughty. 😉
Great fun driving round Combe, though. 😀
