Mrs Binners put some bread out for the birds and this red kite showed up and repeatedly dived down for his lunch
Lovely setting that @Drac. Where is it?
I had a ride down to the coast today in a brutal headwind, then watched 3 absolute lunatic kite-surfers taking full advantage of the hooley blowing in to launch massive air off the waves. It was amazing to watch. I then had a lovely tailwind on the ride back 😃
St Abbs sur Asgard !
That sculpture is quite haunting. Did you pop into the volunteer lifeboat shop?
@ElShalimo yes, spent lots of money in the shop again. Here for a week so will be visiting the Eyemouth/Cove/Burnmouth memorials too (again)!

The edge of the chalk downland, showing in the plowed fields, the edge of the Cotswolds in the distance; too hazy to see Wales beyond.

When I cycled past Edenmill farm, I noticed a sign that read “Fresh strawberries, pick your own”…🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Having had some coaching to get me out of bad habits, I’m getting the hang of this stick shooting lark…
@wheelsonfire - That looks like a skipper, possibly a Dusky Skipper? Haven’t seen one in years!
My 853SS, with new shooze! It just needs the brakes serviced and a new chain, and it’ll be back out on the road for the first time in years!
Oh, and I made sure the tyres were lined up with the valves - I didn’t want small children and STW members pointing at me and laughing!
@CountyZero I’ve just looked it up and it’s possibly a small skipper. It was drinking some water from the top of a wall.
Nice bike and matching hosepipe!
