Despite the efforts of the landowner, this bit of the river is going to turn into an oxbow lake, and no amount of corrugated metal and rubble is going to stop it! One of the few things I remember from school.

The old waterwheel that powered the ragmill, that produced the raw material for the papermill where my grandad and great grandad worked. It finally closed in the 1960’s. The building behind was a brewery, now a beautiful house, very sensitively restored and owned by a very well known actor, who’s frequently seen on television.

You’re in the right place. It was Sgòrr nam Fiannaid though, the Munro up the hill a bit.

First ‘proper’ night ride of the season - lights needed right from the off - and what a night for it. The moon was bright and the reservoirs were like mill ponds

Perhaps about twenty years late, but the potholes in my road are being fixed…

…properly! None of that spray some tar on and then some chippings, and hope it lasts the winter. We had geologists turning up checking the age of the strata in the road because of the depth of the potholes.

Anyone else having issues with Postimage? Quite a lot of my recent images are just showing blank boxes, and anything new I upload onto the site just isn’t showing either.

I see @Northwind has been to Phoenix, AZ too, and brought his welder.

Hurrah! Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) Ten second exposure using my phone resting on the roof of my car. Pretty chuffed at getting any images of it, as it’s past its best. As it’ll be 80,000 years before it comes back, I’ll take what I can get, thanks! ☺️

any chance with some of the more artistic / landscape type photos could include equipment and settings...  would be good to see what settings have what effects..

*edit - looks fine on my computer screen, uploaded 7mb image, looks horrible on here (see the tree - it's crisp in the original), worse than FB compression. What are the best resolution settings to upload?
