As I was just enjoying a small can of tinned peaches, I wondered why the can is 'ribbed' all down the sides? Why is this then? I can't see the point myself.
Unless it's for 'extra pleasure'?

😯

Why not ribbed bike tubes? Yes I know Colnago did funny tubes a while back.

@ CF

No, peaches come in a can, they were put there by a man in a factory down town.

Took me about 10 seconds to cotton on. I thought it was an insult first and I was going to ignore it. Very subtle though, well done.

I can only assume that's a reference to Canned Heat.

Otherwise, I am terminally ignorant.

For the terminally ignorant -

(Mr MC posting) presidents of the USA, brilliant.

Flies like to fly, cause they dont like to stay
Theyre buzzin in the ears of a chicken all day
Chicken understand and they pick out the code
Send a sub-sonic signal through the snot in the middle
Of an elephants long wet cold grey nose
But thats totally Feather-pluckin Insane!

Yes, its to give the cans strength. I worked for Crown Cork and Seal (worlds biggest maker of cans) as a metallurgist, I could bore myself to death with can-related factoids...

MAn that takes me back. I had a cassette with PUSA on one side and the debut Foo's album on the other. It was the only tape I listed too, just kept swapping sides. 🙂
