Weapons are for war, there are no other reasonable purpose for them.

If you turn up to a war with an airgun all the other soldiers are going to laugh at you

"Love my air rifle, a permanent fixture stood in the corner of the room with strangely enough a pair of skis."

Oddly this is now illegal. You actually need to keep it locked up. Utterly unenforcible, but if you get burgled don't mention the gun...

Oh shit. I have skis in the corner of both my upstairs room and in the hall downstairs. Where can I buy a ski safe?

I bet there is some serious recoil on that concrete-block rifle.

About half what you get from a .22LR. So more negligible than serious.

Isn't it only air rifles with under 12ft/lb in power that don't need a license?

This any good for shooting vermin?

Yes, although it wont be producing anything like 12ft/lb, the SMK rifles are all under in stock form. Its also a bit pricey id say.

Any recommendations for up to £100 or so?

Id look around local shops to see what they have, its unusual for air rifles to be ordered online and delivered, which does limit your choice abit. Id also look at second hand too, its perfectly legal to post air rifles so you get lot more choice.

There is nothing wrong with SMK rifles to be fair, they are a bit rough around the edges and if you have a mind too they can be smoothed out a lot. They all shoot well though, which is just aswell as for less then £100 there isn't much else.

It's only homicides, not accidental death by flying, falling or otherwise airborne rodent.
EDIT which would imply that should you wish to off someone, use of a flying rodent would ensure no-one would ever suspect fowl play
