Blazing sunshine and roasting temperatures here

Oops! sorry! Got a bit confused there. That was 1976. Lashing down here too 🙁

The folks in my office think I'm mental 'cause I headed out on the motorbike into it. I told them I wanted to test if my waterproofs still worked...

Not a good day to be a gardener. Don't think I'll be wearing these pants again.

I got caught out in a monumental hailstorm yesterday over near Halifax. Fortunately driving but I had to stop the car, couldn't see out the windscreen even with the wipers on full speed! 😯

Temperature dropped by about 10 degrees, pitch dark, thunder and it turned the road into a river within seconds.

Loved it!

excellent now I can get the whole T-in the Park experience without leaving the house. I'll pitch up a tent in the back garden, turn the TV on to show some music I really don't want to hear, I'll burn £150, I'll pay my wife a tenner for a roll on uncooked sausage then get her to throw a bottle of piss at the back of my head

Thunder, lightning and hailstones in Edinburgh

Ah, so that's where it went - had the same here in west yorks yesterday teatime (or, if Cpt Flashheart is reading) diner time 🙂
First time Ted the Terrier had witnessed real thunder - he was not too happy, not 'barky' but ducked and covered under the dining room table 🙂 - odd really as he had no issue at all with fireworks last year..

Still nice and dry here (8 miles away) In East Lothian. I went into Porty to pick up my sons BMX at lunchtime and the place was cold and soaking. Weird shit Eh?, I blame Rupert Murdoch and News International.

Crikey - that looks a bit expensive. My bike is currently outside at sub-basement level behind our New Town office. Hope it hasn't floated away. 😯

Hmm - Bavelaw Road is mentioned in that STV report. Think I better head home and hope my house isn't now sporting an internal swimming pool.

Well thankfully the STW report was talking pish as far as Bavelaw Road was concerned. Ah well, given I'm hope early think I'll just have to get a Peroni opened and get the TDF on the telly.

Aren't some people in Scotland a kind of strange pale blueish colour?

I have heard this from my mate Scottish Kev (he is Scottish and lives in Scotland and his name is Kev).

Is it true?

Genuine lollage.

So 'white' is the tanned version of a Scottish complexion then?

😆

That's proper funny that, nice one!

According to Billy Connolly it is true.

You rarely get a decent suntan up in Scotland. The last time I had a decent homegrown tan was back in 2003 😯

Sad, eh?

However, I have now learned to expect the weather to be pants and invariably it is pants, but when it isn't pants it is fab and I am mucho smiling 😀

I bet Bruneep's not really in Barbados. I bet he's in Aberdeen or somewhere and he's just pretending he's in Barbados.

However, I have now learned to expect the weather to be pants and invariably it is pants, but when it isn't pants it is fab and I am mucho smiling

Well I spose perpetual pessimism is brightened up considerably of occasion then. 🙂

Maybe it's a good day to be an office worker...

Not the way some grown men were jumping out their chair at the thunder claps in our office. And they were phoning loved ones "Yeah its raining pretty hard. And there's thunder. Are you OK?". MTFU.

What is there to joke about Scotland and rainfall?

Unless you live in some sort of dreamworld we all know that it is a wet place unless you live in the far eastern parts of the country, which sounds good, but after a month or two you realise that it is also cold as well :shiver:

I was at Glentress yesterday and the rainfall after the climb at Redemption was properly Biblical. There's something epic about then honing down the Blue trail as fast as you can in a tropical rainstorm. The rain was so bad that Alpine bikes had a power cut .
On another topic the new cafe , bike shop and changing facilities are top notch.

Apparently the Peel Centre basement flooded. E and T were seen doing a rain dance at the back of the Hub.

Not surprised the water from the Car park has to go somewhere , obviously in the basement of the bike shop. Cafe and shop might have been better where the changing facilities are , that way you can see your car and bike . Still good facility though .

It was pretty impressive watching a big grassy field turn into a somme reenactment in the time it takes Weezer to play Say It Ain't So yesterday.
