I brought a wardrobe three weeks ago but the weather has been really good and all I have done played out on my bikes and not rubbished building it. The girlfriends head is about to fall of as she is the type of person who could not sleep if it was half built. I say I will finnish them when the weather turns to shite and while the sun shines I will go ride a bike.

DIY is for when the weather is rubbish. Enjoy the good weather while you can. You're not lazy, just sensible.

Wife is away for the weekend - I love my kids dearly but after a day ferrying them to various activities and parties, same again tomorrow, I'm reading this and feeling very aware that this might be the last warm and bright weekend for riding before April...

Sod the wardrobes, mate

Well then you're clearly in the right
Had they been for your superhero outfits and/or for some sort of outlandish sexygame with yr girlfriend, then it's debatable

Build or assemble? Sound like it more assembly so just put it together one evening and be done.

You'll remember the joy of the good rides long after you've forgotten the minor inconvenience of a few piles of clothes.

Mind you, if your GF withdraws certain privileges, that may figure higher in your memory...

I can't believe you've not spent time on the sofa watching shite tv in 3 weeks... It'll only take 30 mins get it and the gf will be so happy she'll [s]swallow[/s] be happy

Does it not occur to these frustrated partners to build it themselves instead of waiting ages and winding themselves up? It ain't rocket science...

Three weeks?! I shall tell you some stories about my Father in Law.

A few months before we were married he decided to rip out the bathroom in their house (the upstairs and only one) and replace it in a couple of weeks. He hit a problem, and didn't finish it. They had no washing facilities at all for about a month, so he put in a shower room temporarily. It's still there 5 years later, they have no proper bathroom.

He laid concrete for a garage in the garden about ten years ago, building it was going to take a week. He just finished the garage last year and I still think it's missing a window.

But the best one - he removed the back porch (this is an American house so think large wooden verandah that goes around three sides of the house about 4ft above ground level) saying it was just a quick few days work OVER TWENTY YEARS AGO. There's still a door half way up the back wall of the house that opens into space.
