I stocked up on three bottles of that at crimbo when it was £25. Lovely dram.

£39 for it is pretty ambitious but it's good for £25. Have any of you tried it out of the freezer? I'm unconvinced myself, it's way better at room temperature.

I'm interested in the STW approved malt on the shelf below.

Nice - I'll add one of those to the collection tomorrow if the local Tesco have it. I've build quite a decent collection from those £25 Tesco offers.

Had one last year, definitely better out the freezer, which I thought was odd for a whisky ! Will try and get a bottle tomorrow, thanks for the PSA.

Not tried that one before, but for £25 it can't hurt to try

Looks like Laphroaig, it was £25 in Asda for the 10yo the other day if you fancy a bottle.

Clever ploy by Tesco. Lead with one clearance whisky which is truly a bargain, then pretend to do the same again with a lower end whisky and dupe people into buying it by the bucket load.

Clever girl

I had a bottle of that in the caravan last summer - probably form the same shop and at the same price. Very nice it was too.

Amazon seem to have quite a few on offer at the moment.

As a non-whiskey drinker what's a good one to try without breaking the bank? Examples:

Glenlivet Founders Reserve (£22)
Glenmorangie 10yo (£25)
Laphroaig 10yo (£26)
Highland Park 12yo (£25)
Glenfiddich 12yo (£25)

Glenlivet, Highland Park, Laphroaig.

Drink in that order for best effect.

Or just get a Talisker

Blimey, reminds me of the time my local Tesco had Lagavulin for £25.

Turned out to be a mistake, they said I could only have one bottle at that price (as I'd only put one in my basket).

That Winter's Gold is lovely, I had a bottle last year at £25. Think I got it from Booths but I've seen it elsewhere at similar prices.

The first Laddie Ten was lovely and the price went up as it became rarer. There was a 2nd bottling released back end of last year I think, haven't had that one, but whichever you have, at that price, it's a proper bargain...

I'm not a huge whisky drinker i must admit, but had a quick flick on internet and they said it had been discontinued in 2011, so that explains why these weren't silly money, Just remember reading the name of the distillery when we were in Hebrides.

But i have given two away as gifts, and kept two and it is a nice drop with just a splash of water

Something for the whisky drinkers

Those graphics suggest not all whiskys are medicinal. I'm not a doctor (not a medical one anyway) but I'm sure that's not true 🙂

Just picked up a bottle of Caol Ila £7 off (making it £30) at tesco's.

Not as brilliant a deal as the Ardberg but I know there's plenty of love for the Ila on here and it's the cheapest by far I've seen it about.

😀

Yep, picked up the Dalwhinnie, for £25 last night in Tesco. They also had Talisker reduced to £25 as well, but that still a lot more expensive than just drinking TCP 😉

Available to order online or for Click & Collect if anyone's still trying to get hold of it.

It's definitely an acquired taste, innit..!?

My local Tesco still has the Dalwhinnie, plus Talisker, Highland Park and a couple of others at £25 too.
