Thinking about buying one, they have some pretty good deals on the Lenovo website that end tonight at midnight.
Would like to pick the brains of the STW massive. Anyone got one? What do you think?
I'm looking at the 11 inch, Intel i3 model. 4GB ram, 320 HD bla bla bla......
I would specifically like to know if it runs hot, burning ones nuts. And if it has a noisy fan... Both are annoying.
I'm only going to be using it for general use like surfing, word processing and something I can use to dump loads of photo's on from a CF card when I'm away from home.
I have a desktop that I use for work, photo/ editing etc so I think the spec should be fine for a second machine.

Can't give specific advice on the edge, but I'm on my 3rd Thinkpad ( 2 X60s and now an X201 ) and they are excellent - generally very quiet/well put together.

What Cranberry said. I don't know that model specifically, but the Thinkpads tend to be of high build quality. It's a brand I'd shortlist, certainly.
I loved my THinkpad, I loved Lenovo Thailand and Korea's customer service.
Lenovo UK though are a completely different matter. They honestly, smashed up my laptop after losing it for two weeks and claimed it was customer damage, wiped my hDD of everything and sent it back.

I've got one!
I've up'd it to 6gb ram, run's great, not too hot, battery realistically is 4hrs if surfing etc. very quiet really.
HDMI got tested last night too, played 720p video fine.
The only thing I struggled with was a snug fitting sleeve due to the battery sticking out the back. I tracked down this though, from the previous model, same size, nice fit...

I still have and use a Thinkpad from the 90's with a P2. No problems despite some decent efforts of Ryanair luggage handlers over the years.

Moonhead - Thinkpads are fine machines - I'm sure that you'll be happy with it when it arrives.
As an aside, is it really geeky when the removals guys leave, to go straight to the box containing your internet modem and your thinkpad ?
The bed/kitchen/bathroom/clothes/etc/etc can wait 🙂
