That, in essence, shouldn't be so satisfying...
For me, it would be:
-the 'snip' of scissors cutting hair/paper
-watching suspension forks track up and down (particularly POV camera shots)
-Car windows down on a really cold day...
DrP
Being outdoors really early in the morning, before anyone else is up and about.
Wagamama Ginger chicken Udon .LOVE it
crack
Watching a pint of Guinness settle
Alex Pollizzi
the tick tick tick of a freewheel

smell of a home fire
A well turned out lady, always makes my day.
nice cup of tea with plain choc digestives
Turning my lights off at the top of a hill on a night ride, and just silently looking out over the lights of Manchester.
Then turning my lights back on and going hooning down it! 😀
Lining up the ruler perfectly against the crop marks on artwork, then running a scalpel down it.
Harlem Shake! 😀
I like those calm little moments before the storm, it reminds me of Beethoven.
In the real world though, very early cold mornings and the sound of birds starting their day.
Lying down in a field full of long grasses and wild flowers, and looking up at the sky on a hot, summers day! It's almost like watching an entomological motorway .... Sooooo busy! 🙂

Bought my 31st bike of the last 5 years 🙂

Yes!!! Its not just me 😛
For me its the smell of 2-stroke and freshly cut grass.
Hmmm 🙂
-watching suspension forks track up and down (particularly POV camera shots)
This is good. I like watching suspension working on anything. The big Dakar trucks are good. Bonus points for POV shots that show the suspension assemblies/linkages working.
I also like watching vehicles turn sharply and at slow speed when they have multiple steering axles. Particularly rear steer stuff. Always fascinated me since I was a kid. No idea why, it's a ridiculous thing.
^^
🙂
Me and my 3 year old likes watching 'geeky' videos of engineering stuff on you tube too, such as:
DrP
Chopping wood
Throwing my biggest boomerang, and getting it just right.
That slow curve through the air ,then helicoptering right back to the start.
Being called Dad
the atmosphere in a public house, between 2.30 pm and 7.30pm.
Amen to that Ton. Sat with a pint and the paper.
Cheese on toast
particularly POV camera shots
Yeah I like these too. Ahem.
Dead legs, after a very long hard ride.
Inhaling helium from balloons and talking in a squeeky voice
Flying water fowl - with long necks. Always make me smile that. 2 swans were flying parallel to me on the motorway the other day, ruins my driving 🙂
For Rusty Spanner. I made a deal with the wife when she was pregnant if i could buy a new bike i'd keep it for 5 years.... i kinda broke my promise...

Opening a pressurised bag of Arborio Rice.
Slicing and Aubergine with a sharp knife.

listening to pantera whilst writing work project reports.
Popping bubble wrap, obvs.
Clicking the loose cartilage in my nose in and out of place.
Counting my steps in my head as I walk.
Brazing. Specifically, when fillet brazing, getting in the rhythm of perfect temperature and brass flow, and the brass fillets just stack up perfectly...

Having my dog curled up sleeping next to me on the sofa on a Saturday afternoon when I've nothing better to do than nap and read.
BBQ on a warm summers day with the kids playing in the garden.
Masturbation.
And surfing dawn raids.
Sleeping outside on the trail, the more outside the better bivi>tarp>tent>car.
Swiming in lakes first thing in the morning while it's misty, especialy after the above, and preceeding a mahoosive fry-up on the shore (why else does thick cut bacon come in packs of 6 if not to be eaten in one sitting?).

I also love the sound and feel of old medium format cameras, I have a Bronica SQA that I hang on to solely for the feel of it.
Struggled with this one but dawn surfing raids is no.1
Tunnocks caramel wafers no.2
The smell of my cat when he's asleep (his neck is the best).
The wind. Has to be a dark evening with a blustery, warmish wind. Reminds me of childhood.
A certain perfume worn by a girl I went out with. I get a whiff of it occasionally and it takes me right back. Gives me the horn too.
Mashed potato.

the elation that last the rest of the day after a really good hard ride.
I kind of get the impression that a few people missed/ignored this bit from the OP:

In that case... the "pop" that you get when you open a new jar of pesto.
On the subject of "pop", going wake to wake on buttery smooth tropical waters.
And, getting a perfect toe edge way out wide, one handed, low to the water.
Freewheeling a bike. Any bike, any place, any time. Freewheeling along is AWSUMZ
going wake to wake on buttery smooth tropical waters
Sounds to me like that should certainly be satisfying.. ?
Hot long sunny afternoon, spliff, hardpack with that tiny gravel on top that rolls real fast, green grass, a nice long undulating piece of singletrack...mmmmm...motion is a powerful potion..
Loamy swoopy Singletrack
that just right feeling you get three or four a year on the bike
Oh. You expect me to actually read the OP? Pah! 😉
Being the first person to walk on a fresh snowfall.
The peace and quiet that is left to me and the dog when everyone else is off out away not near me. (Being antisocial basically).

Seeing a dog stick its head out a moving car window
The "buzz" of a mountain bike tyre on a road
Being drunk with friends
Caron bank, Innerleithen
The car starting, and keeping on going. It always does, which, when you think about it, is pretty amazing. Think of all the development, all the bits that were designed and tested over the years.
This crosses my mind pretty often when I start the engine.
What a saddo!
