Clovelly springs to mind.

You could combine it with Croyde/Woolacombe too.

My knowledge of geography of that area is not great but lunch at the ring of bells in bovey tracy - I went there a few years ago and I will always remember it as almost a distillation of an English country pub. Dartmoor ish

If you're going to detour that far, go to Avebury rather than Stonehenge - muchos better.

Or just go to Bristol? A great city with masses to see and do.

Assuming you are starting in Cornwall, Lands End by any chance? then the Eden Project would be a good place to go although you need to go for at least half a day to do it justice.

In Devon then driving through Dartmoor would be good, if the weather is OK, the scenery is fantastic.
