It's so nice to watch and unwind with. I've seen some lovely stuff on there that has great value to the owners. Standouts are some of the soft toys, especially the do on wheels that helped a young girl to learn to walk. The flying saucer was great too.
In real life though (not that it maters) I can't remember seing any of the items in the flesh as it were.

In terms of technology, yes. The actual featured brands probably less so.
It just bugs the hell out of me that with all that talent in the room they cant seem to fix the overlapping front door to the barn!
The barn is at the Weald and Downland Living Museum near Chichester and is just an empty shell that is ‘dressed’ for filming - that’s why the door is never flung open, they just sneak around the edge. Most filming will be done in a studio somewhere.

Agree. If they were in a studio they wouldn't be so visibly cold when filming in colder months. I have also see Dom show it on his YouTube channel and they are definitely there.

I think it is too. We were there a couple of years ago and could see into it.
They had quite a big production area set up. Trailers, prefabs and the like along with a couple of new buildings.
Couldn't get too close as they were filming.
It's definitely filmed inside the barn. They have open days and you can see all the stuff set up, you're allowed to stand at the entrance and look inside, as opposed to wander around inside the barn. It's very cool

The most painful injury i received at work was from one of those bastarding things. Slipped and grabbed the top wire of a railway fence, slid the pokey out bit into my hand.
I think that as the BBC is famed for editorial balance a new programme should be made to offer something a little different to this one.
Perhaps people should have unique and treasured items which they are emotionally attached to or remind them of distant relatives and uplifting events. The guests could carefully bring these to the barn, tell their stories and get a bit dusty-eyed before handing them over to the time-served artisans.... who completely trash them with hammers and powertools ....

I wanted to take in a pair of sawn off shotguns that had been decommissioned after a failed blag in the 70's and see if they could get them working again.
They meant such a lot to my old man and, dispite the 4 murders, he was a lovely family man and father to me. I think 'the Guv' would be absolutely made up if he could see me with them in the high street knocking over the last remaining bank in a nostalgic guns bl;azing heist. It would be a real 'blast from the past' , especially if the Sweeney turned up...

There is clearly a bit of that with the occasional ****less offsping trying to get something for nothing.
But low value things like toys don't often start out loved until much later and three generations later they're ****ed. And other things like ceramics are only ever a drop away from smashing. Electronics etc just degrad over time.
And the issue with most of the repairs is they would be expensive way beyond the value. And some of them are just to precious to trust someone out of the yellow pages.
I think they quite well to get genuine things.
