MegaSack DRAW - 6pm Christmas Eve - LIVE on our YouTube Channel
according to a local (taxi driver who dropped me off at the airport last night)
Pyramid Sha**ing - 8)
As this concept was new to me I had to ask for an explanation.......
'20 blokes hit town on a do, one of them 'gets lucky', he tells his 19 mates, they all go home and tell their mates, who tell their mates........ etc', next thing you know we're swamped with stag do's.
Made me smile but gotta guess he's not far wrong.....
It really is a shite hole now. Spent most of my childhood there and loved it all (30 years ago) and went back in April. Dreadful place - apart from learning to surf finally 🙂 Much better in the smaller places like Mawgan Porth and Perranporth.
Surely if 20 blokes go out on the town anywhere one of them will get lucky? That in itself wouldn't make Bradford (for instance) the next big Stag Do destination. Having cheap flights from the big cities has made Newquay what it is - but it hasn't exactly been a quiet fishing village for a long time...
More like 20 blokes hit town on a do, just one of them 'gets lucky' and his 19 mates all go home and tell their mates they got lucky, who tell their mates, and so on...
to nearly* quote one of my friends form uni..........
"theres nothing to do in Cornwall apart from surf, shag and drink"
Cambourne has the highest teenage preganacy rate in Europe for a reason!
*every scentance started and ended with m***f*, even calling someone a mf was as follows "Oi, m*f**, m***f**, m***f***"
i think its cos pubs are open later.used to be that be 11.00 all stag do's and bunches of hen parties etc were safetly "contained" in a night club till 2, when they came out ratted, looking for a taxi. now they patrol around town till late in fancy dress sticking out like a sore thumb.
I'm off to New Quay on a stag do in a few weeks

Nope - went out on a Tuesday night in April and it was dead - all the local pubs closed at 11pm and the 'nitespots' hadn't even opened for the summer season.
It was most disappointing - it was the first night my mate had off from his 6 month old and we ended up back at the apartment drinking tinnies and in bed by midnight-ish.
Clubs are open til 4 now....
not that that bothered our little bunch of late 30ies / early 40ies blokes - all 6 of us!
horlicks and pipe and slippers by midnight - which is not too far off true as the stag is recovering from pneumonia.....
Fancy dress - had to smile - so many folks thinking they were original - counted 6 Michael Jackson / Thriller ensembles on Saturday night....
Is Fat Willy's still going!!!

The one on the road above the harbour looked like it had just closed down in April....
I was there for a stag do a few years ago and it felt like Benidorm. Loads of lager, tops off, and not a good atmosphere. Its changed massively, in part due to the surfing hype of teh past few years - I've got great memories surfing down there 15 years ago, when it was much more chilled out. Theres a great pub on the beach at Perrenporth, which is great to go on a nice evening.

saw two shops that were 100% open at the weekend.....
I was there for a day the week before last.
Yes, its a dump.
Kids loved the beach though.
And that DairyLand place up the road. I still have burn marks on my elbows from the "Slide of Death" that I took the kids on.

MTFU
I was straight on there - it was great fun - and I didn't even have kids of my own (I do now though - 6 weeks old). 🙂
Dairyland rocks!
Little tip if you do go on the death slide that is in the big shed, do follow the instructions and cross your arms over your chest. I didnt and caught my shoulder blades on the way down! That cost me a good few visits to the physio, he did almost p*ss himself when I said how I did it though 🙂
Instructions? I just threw myself off. 🙂
stag do in newquay friday ,any tips ?
