It's watchable enough.

But nowt spectacular once you take away the special effects and wot not.

I think I forgot all the bits I didn't like almost instantly- which was quite effective but on the other hand made it really confusing when I left the cinema thinking I'd only been in there for an hour and a half and it was dark and there was a foot of snow.

It just took the 'best' bits from the other films and flogged them to death. And the 'battle' sequences just went on. And on. It was like Indiana Jones with Orcs. And less plot.

Really disappointed.

Thought it was ok, just a bit long. The bit with Radogast's bunny sleigh was a bit of a 'jump the shark' moment for me though.

I've got as far as downloading it. Am a bit hesitant to watch it, can't really see how they can get three films out of what was quite a short book....

Still, Smeagol stole the show again. Serkis is brilliant.

But even then, they did the Smeagol/Gollum bit to death too.
