AKA the Bragging thread.

Set British modesty aside for a moment and tell us what have you done on the bike (or off) recently that you've been reet chuffed about.

Got to the bike shed after work last week and had a flat. Rear wheel, pompino, flip-flop hub fixed and freewheel - I always use the free-wheel. Bitterly cold night so I changed it as quick as I could. Rode out onto the road for about 100 yards and the lights change. Go to slow down and get booted off the pedals and plant me baws on the stem.

I'm reet chuffed that:
1. I managed to rescue it and get away with a slightly sore sack (plus looking like a bell).
2. Epic ineptitude reigns (I put the wheel on backwards if it's not obvious - meaning I was riding fixed when I thought I was riding with a freewheel)
3. The lights changed. If they were on green I would normally steam down that road - could have been seriously painful taking a break in the pedal stroke at high speed.

Taught a 60-something year old lady to ride a bike, along with half a dozen other adults 😀

Just removed a bottom bracket, involved using a threaded rod to hold the tool on (through the hollow ISIS axle), clamping the tool in a bench vice and twisting the frame.

It was a bit stuck.

Also hit a cadence of 181 on the turbo, but I'm not sure if that's any good or not.

@40mpg - I bet you had to bloody leg it to get in your sleeping bag and look nonchalant after pressing the self timer button 😆

I'm in the middle of something quite Top Secret at the moment that will give me a great deal of pleasure if it comes off.

My two daughters are turning out well, so far. Well behaved (usually..), polite, respectful, well spoken, doing well at school.

They're the only legacy I'll ever leave behind....

I ran the Edale Skyline on a whim on Sunday. Was meant to be recce'ing the first 15 miles but was feeling good so did the whole lot.

Its 21 miles around the skyline of Edale with a mix of snow, ice and mud underfoot. Managed in 3h 40m. Also saved one of the toughest climbs til last.

Made two people's jobs redundant and managed to do it without being a complete **** and even managed to get them to shake hands at the end of the process.

Perhaps not a great brag but the only 'positive' I can think of recently.

Repaired the thermostat on the Audi using just the web for information. On the drive in the cold without losing any skin or shedding blood.

Does it involve a white cat, a spinning leather armchair and an extinct volcano?

I like aka_gilo's tilt.

Much the same at casa del stoner. No great dramas, but the boys are turning out alright so far. Well mannered and Jr Sr is rippin' through the school library.

TBH my successes are theirs now. It's all about them.

Just another 15 yrs to go.....

Being a part of raising my son into a great little guy, although the wife really does deserve far more credit.

Less proud of my wimpiness on the bike when it comes to drops and ice/snow lately could do with locating some confidence from somewhere again 😕 .

That's much better! Less of this 'I've raised a wonderful human being' crap and more sporting boasts. 😉

I did the black at Laggan clean on my rigid fixie today. RAAAAAAARRRRRR

I destroyed my pen and notebook in a fit of homework induced rage. I'm not so much proud as satisfied.

My album was no 23 in Amazon's world music album download chart today 🙂

Currently 25 and will probably be much lower by the time any of you read this!

Saved myself £310.51!
The clasp on my watch broke a year or more ago. Dunhill wanted £317 😯 to replace it. I managed to pick up bracelet on eBay and fixed the broken bit myself.
Well chuffed. saved money and got my watch back 😀

Slammed into a fallen tree 2 weeks ago at Brechfa, me vs the root base. I landed on my face, taco'd the front wheel and dented my pride.

However, I had been riding in snow all morning and it was amazing, my face was relatively un-scathed as was the rest of me. It was the end of the final descent so only a short walk to the car park. All in all it could have ended far worse.

Also feel I have been doing what I can to support the economy still, I still seem to spend almost exactly what I earn a month.

Today I completed my first ever 100k on the road bike. Under 4 hours too, so I'm well chuffed. 🙂

Good work clubber!
I had the job of delivering a wee girl today, at the side of the road somewhere in
Paisley. Once I'd washed and changed and had a cup of tea I was very happy.

Currently acting as a consultant/writing a course on computer music production, the client seems very happy. 🙂

I seem to be getting paid about a fifth of what my employer is charging me out at. 🙁
