I think the Renault engine debacle is a smokescreen from Horner. Fact is that they are also getting beaten by other teams with the same engine, so first they need to do a better job and be the best Renault runner before they can start laying into the engine supplier. In fact I wonder if their current car would be beating Williams if they could bolt a Merc into the back of it.
I think Renault will most likely be buying up/back Lotus - it'd be competitive suicide for Williams to go away from merc at the moment, though remembering the Judd days it's not beyond the realms of possibility. The team should be starting to work well now though, the 2013 staff changes should be bedding in, the 2014 prize money starting to have an impact and strengthening their commercial/sponsorship opportunities to bring a few £M more for 2016. Plus the cash they'll be getting for BOTTAS of course.
It'll be interesting to see how the first tranche of reg changes affect things in Hungary. Of the current crop of drivers it seems that Nico is one of the most reliant on pit info/instructions.
A really dominant performance from Lewis Hamilton today: James Allen on F1. Is Rosberg starting to crumble?
and in other news McLaren & Honda turn up the engine ........again...........
the cars a lemon, they must be thinking of abandoning any development on the car and starting the 2016 car , but i guess they will to know what drivers they will be driving - because its not alonso or button (IMHO).... Ron will also need to be looking for a new job too, or perhaps he'll just go back to marketing his sports cars...
lets hope for rain , otherwise we could be in for a boring race up front.

I think that there could be an interesting battle between Red Bull and Ferrari though
Why is everyone talking about the starts changing from Spa? I half heard something regarding the clutches I think?
alonso is on his way....
2016:
he'll be in leMans next year
button at williams
mclaren with 2 teenage drivers
ron dennis on gardening leave
...as for clutches
they used to practice "bite point" tests on the warm up lap and the team will give them data on whats the best point and setting to use, now they are not allowed to do that as thats "telling the drivers how to drive the car" which brakes some stupidarserule about the drivers must drive the car alone...
its basically one of those great f1 fudges that come in every time someone dominates and they try and change things around without actually changing the rules because teams would then block the rule change....
Some interesting extrapolation from the linked article there back2basics.

Isn't it more to do with starts becoming pretty much fully automatic, rather than domination?
Although yesterday it looked like Merc has already found a way around the new regs. Lewis and Nico were testing bitepoints when they stopped after qually.
Re Alonso - I think at the very least we'll see him in 2016. Seems odd to endure a season such as this just to pack in when things could be very different next year.
According to b2bs earlier posts alonso should have already quit taking Ron with him. I reckon they'll both keep their seats next year. Though a team of button webber and alonso at le mans would be interesting
What's the money like for Le Mans and the WEC, does anyone know?
alonso needs no big pay cheque anymore
interesting start 🙂
Oh, this should be interesting now!
Superb by Vettel. How close? 😯
We have a race on!
But this is what troubles be about Rosberg - he should be all over those Ferraris
massa seems to never be able to pass/be-passed without rubbing, touching someone
hamiltons been warned about high brake temps, lets see if he'll go wide ina few corners or t bone someone
Healthy Mclaren passing a sick Ferrari? Something for alonso to smile about anyway.
Oof! Final pitstops so Lewis will have to do it on track.
Edit - real safety car, Lewis could still win this
so all closed up now - should help hamo
edit:whoever decided rosberg should go on the harder tyre now is anutter idiot and has lost the chance to use the 1 second advantage to pass ferraris'
whoever decided rosberg should go on the harder tyre now is anutter idiot and has lost the chance to use the 1 second advantage to pass ferraris'
That seems to have been Rosbergs call!
hamo blows it!!!
😀hamiltons been warned about high brake temps, lets see if he'll go wide ina few corners or t bone someone
with hamo out the points now, it falls to Rosberg - does he try and pass the Ferrari or does he settle for second but Riccy boy is coming up fast!!!!!!!!!1
Hamilton radio:" so sorry guys so sorry"
yeah Hamilton, people make bloody mistakes - remember your bitchin' in Monaco about the team....that lost you just a few places, youve lost all the places in this race......
I'm so glad they're thinking of ways to improve f1, cos this race has been as dull as Silverstone was.
rosbergggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg
It's Christmas for Hamilton
It's Christmas for Hamilton
🙂 🙂
In fact the only bad thing about this race is that we're going to see that bloody finger again.
Alonso could win this - all due to Honda turning up the engine... 🙂
Has Maldonaldo picked up three penalties in the same race now?
i think he's going for the record of highest number of penalties in a race.
maldo should win a prize for not crashing!
Oh my god that's gotta be the best race of the season, hasn't it?!?! Amazing stuff!!
what a misery the MD of the Ferrari team is! Maurizio Arrivabene
interiew with Lewis
where do the BBC get these interviewers from
...edit....same interview with Nico = jeeez dont ask him anything about the race, tyres, etc just the "what are you feeling"
Best race in ages!
Hamilton still manages to increase hi s lead, despite driving like he did a few seasons ago!!
i used to rate rosberg, but now i'm thinking hes another rubens
i thought once Schumacher had left he could take on being a hard confident racer, be to be honest he's descended into a "nearly man" -
"i'm nearly there, just a few tiny things i need to change"
"i nearly made it, just the problem with the balance"
etc
etc
etc
compared to bottas and others coming through the field now he's looked stale and whiney
Best race in ages!
Yep - even the McLaren seemed to have some pace!
When Hamilton smacked into Riciardo, that was nothing to do with brake temperature, that was cold, hard tyres as a result of being behind the safety car causing understeer.
Yep - even the McLaren seemed to have some pace!
I know, they've finally managed to drag themselves into the midpack. Hopefully they'll keep on improving! It was getting so painful seeing them fighting it out with Manor at the back
you guys are kiddin about mcLaren right??? you watched the race right???
retirements , crashes, penalties all meant mclaren moved up by default, when everyone was in the race they were 13th/14th and going no where..
i think the biggest question should be how has williams become so fickle - one race good, one race aweful
They qualified 10th and 11th, which I would say is mid-pack in a field of 20 cars.

What about 15th & 16th which is where they actually qualified?
