im currently in deadlock with my house mate over this....so, should the paper hang against the wall all neat and tidy, or away from the wall, thus alowing easy access and swift tearing off??

away from the wall!
If its to the wall then if the bathroom steams up during a shower then the loo papeer could stick to the wall!!!

It has also been suggested that preference for "under" may correlate with ownership of a [s]recreational vehicle or a cat.[/s] bike without gears

Away! I seem to be the only bugger that actually puts them on the holder in my flat so the girls (!) have no choice.

We just changed to next to the wall,as the baby just learnt about the funny pully game in the bathroom, and it makes it slightly harder for her to grab.

Away from the wall for me, allows for easier access.

Away, and if it is facing in, you turn it round.

You have toilet rolls ?

Cut up newspaper, spiked through a bent nail in the bog door.

I'll never forget the day when we could finally afford the bent nail.

I started a big thread on this a long time ago after an office argument - consensus seemed to be that it should hang away from the wall, with some dissenting female voices.

This being STW, a couple of smart so and sos argued toilet roll should be stored on a vertical holder, so negating the whole argument. ๐Ÿ™„

@joemarshall Squish the roll a bit so it doesn't roll so easily, so if it does get pulled by a child, it comes off less quickly. (cant remember where I learnt that but it worked for us)

As I have said before against the wall if you live in a trailer and sleep with your sister, otherwise away from the wall.

Away from the wall, definitely.

I was brought up with loo roll obsessively near the wall ... I have been liberated since marriage to an "away from the wall" bloke! Alhough if I feel like confusing him (- he works shifts), I have been known to swap, just for devilment, though ...

Diane, You like?

I was in a pub in cornwall when i noticed the condiment holder handle looked a little familiar.
So i made a trip to the loo to collect a roll paper and returned to make the worlds very first napkin dispenser.

I thought it would be better than having the poor young lady behind the bar wrapping a knife and fork in a napkin and sticking a little St Austell brewery sticker on it.

She agreed and bought me a pint for my king thought..

Before.

After.
