Hi

Eldest kid is away for 3 nights next week and will also soon be doing Duke of Ed expeditions

Our family tent weighs a ton and sleeps 6 so isnt really suitable for either purpose

Next weeks trip will have her driven to and based in the same place with her gear (guitar, sports kit, teen stuff, etc) so a bit of extra room would be nice but obviously for the DoE it will need to be packable and easy to carry

We have a Decathlon and a Go Outdoors nearby
Both of their websites have a billion tents on them

Any suggestions on what would fit the bill at a decent price would be very well received

Cheers

Check that the DofE organiser or AAP doesn't loan stuff first, as that will be cheaper than buying. Her DofE info pack should have a list of suppliers that give a discount for doing DofE (Go Outdoors definitely do).
Tents wise we use these for Bronze, which have the added advantage of being able to replace individual poles when they break http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/vango-tempest-300-3-berth-tent-p139967
but these for Gold as we camp higher and at the edges of the season (March to October)

Vango Banshee 2 is nice and light, has enough room for one plus kit. I got mine on a sale in Blacks but I think they are about the same price as I paid now (£90?)
